Important Notes:

  • Please email one2one@palisadessd.org once your computer is received to have it added to the Palisades SD network.
  • CDWG highly recommends purchasing an extended warranty as all laptops come with a 1 year warranty standard.  All warranties include depot support which means it is mailed-in.  Shipping costs for the warranty support are 100% included in the warranty price.  Standard turnaround time on warranty support is 5-7 business days.  We also recommend a carrying case for whatever machine you choose.
  • Before placing your order, please be sure that ALL items you plan to purchase are in your shopping cart.
  • If your student is planning to do video editing or run a lot of video on their computers, the mid-level or high-end laptop spec is a much better fit.

More Information to help you:

Memory and hard drive space are two completely different things.  Hard drive space refers to storage or disk space.  This is where your files, applications and the like are saved.

Memory refers to randomly accessed memory (RAM).  Think of this as your computer’s short-term memory as it allows the machine to “remember” what it is doing while running different applications and performing different tasks.  It works in conjunction with your processor to increase performance. Generally, the more memory, the better. Relative to laptops, 2GB is certainly sufficient; 4GB isn’t required but is nice to have in the long run.  If you choose a memory upgrade, be sure to order the CDW installation part unless you prefer to do it yourself.
