Richard J. Heffernan, Jr. Principal
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
Yesterday marked the midpoint of the 3rd marking period! Please be sure to check your child’s academic progress in our online grading system, Powerschool. If you have any questions or concerns regarding his/her grades, please contact the teacher and/or the guidance counselor.
This past week, I received information of our students’ successes! Please join me in congratulating the following students/groups for their accomplishments:
Senior, Zack Boyd, has been named a Finalist in National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s program. This recognition places Zack as one of the top 15,000 students who is now eligible for nearly 7,500 scholarships. Nearly 1.6 million students each year are considered based upon their junior PSAT scores. This is a huge honor!
Last weekend, the Cybersonics Team won the FedEx Innovation Challenge! This year our students chose to work on this challenge during build season and made it one of their top priorities. The Challenge was a social-media based competition that integrated math and science problems along with other creative tasks. This competition was open to all FIRST robotic and tech teams in the US. It is our understanding that hundreds of teams participated in this year’s competition.
