COOKING WITH STYLE!
The cookbooks (with over 200 recipes) are called "Cooking With Style" and were created by the salon friends and clients of Mrs. Sandy Weber. The cost $10.00 each and ALL proceeds benefit the GRWA. The books are available at The Bucks County Hair Company & Day Spa (610-847-CUTS) or by contacting www.grwabucks.org . The Gallows Run Watershed Association (GRWA) supports environmental stewardship, sustainable land management, and preservation of our natural character. This is a tax deductable contribution and all checks should be made out to GRWA. They make great gifts!
COMING SOON...FIRST FRIDAYS AT THE OTTSVILLE FARMERS MARKET:
The Ottsville Farmers Market is thrilled to be headed into its 4th season! Every Friday from 4-8 pm April 27 - October 12, the market offers a place for local vendors to sell their vegetables, fruits, home made preserves, jellies, jams, salsas, pickles, natural ingredient soaps and cosmetics, locally roasted coffee, hand knit alpaca, llama and sheep wool, herbs and ornamental plants as well as seafood and cured meats. Our full season vendors are committed to being there every week rain or shine for the community. Market attendees enjoy meeting friends and family at the end of the work week and visiting their favorite producers who work hard to deliver delicious and quality products each week.
The market also offers promotional opportunities for non profits and local businesses. A free table is available for non profits and local business sponsors to promote their upcoming events. We have fun with scheduled events including egg races, recipe contests (and tasting), ping pong tournaments, featured chef tastings, yoga class and even a belly dancing performance!
This year we are partnering with the Palisades School District to showcase upcoming activities to the market community. The first Friday of each month the market will highlight and feature a Palisades club, upcoming event, class project or fun craft activity. The Ottsville Farmers Market will provide a free table to the Palisades organizer and promote the activity in our weekly newsletter, website and facebook pages. Please let us know which date your club would like to organize an activity (if you need an additional date besides the first Friday, we would be glad to add it to the program).
Ideas:
Promote school theater programs and sell tickets! Provide class project demonstrations! Fundraise for school trips! Showcase athletic team demos or contests! Sell Fresh Food for Palisades lemonade or healthy cafeteria treats! Create a movie night or ping pong competition! Offer planting projects or composting demos! ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOME!
Please send us the topic and the date you would like to attend to dholmes@palisadessd.org - to coordinate with the Ottsville Farmers Market. Of course we also look forward to seeing you at any of our markets from April 27th - October 12th! ! If you love having fresh local produce in our community, family sponsorship options (attached) are also available. Please email kp@thekitchenpotager.com with questions.
