DRESS CODE

 

 

Students and parents should use sound judgment when choosing clothing for school.   Personal appearance and cleanliness should reflect sensitivity to and a respect for others.  The dress code should promote a positive, safe and healthy environment to prevent disruption to the education process.

 

·         Garments exposing cleavage, stomach and open back are prohibited.

·         Tube tops, spaghetti strap shirts, backless shirts, halter tops and single strap shirts are not permitted. Tank tops with dual straps are permitted as long as a student’s undergarment is not visible.

·         Shirts with profanities, lewd suggestions and/or drug/alcohol related prints are not permitted.

·         Bracelets, collars or other apparel that have spikes, studs or other potentially dangerous components are prohibited.

·         Sunglasses are not permitted to be worn in school during the school day.

·         Clothing with holes should not reveal any inappropriate body parts or undergarments.

·         Sagging pants/shorts or low-cut pants/shorts that expose undergarments are not allowed.

·         Outerwear such as coats and jackets are not to be worn during the school day.

·         Hats, hoods and other headwear or bandanas over 2 inches wide are not permitted.

·         Footwear must be worn at all times.

·         Skirts must be no more than 6 inches above the knee, (mid-thigh).

·         All shorts must have at least a 3 inch inseam and must be loose fitting.

 

Any student who violates the dress code will be subject to disciplinary action.  Upon student’s first violation he/she will receive a verbal and written warning and will be required to change before returning to class.  Any violation thereafter will result in appropriate detentions/suspension, as well as the student being required to change any inappropriate dress.
